Chukotka's gold output falls 13.8% to 21.878 tns in 2022

ANADYR, Jan 18 (PRIME) -- Gold production on Russia’s Chukotka peninsula decreased by 13.79% on the year to 21.878 tonnes in 2022, a representative of the industrial policy department of the Chukotka Autonomous Region’s government told PRIME on Wednesday.

Production of silver fell by 7.28% to 102.489 tonnes.

Canada's Kinross Gold sold its assets to Highland Gold Mining (HGM) in April of the year.

Production of HGM's Chukotka Mining and Geological Company fell by 26% to 8.1 tonnes of gold and by 10% to 89.039 tonnes of silver. The output of HGM's another unit, Severnoye Zoloto, shrank by 11.1% to 2.423 tonnes of gold and rose by 14.6% to 5.138 tonnes of silver. Production of Valunisty Mine plunged by 56.6% to 714.13 kilograms of gold, silver output grew by 22.1% to 7.72 tonnes. Kekura's output gained 27.2% to 2.4 tonnes of gold and lost 19% to 398.07 kilograms of silver.

Output of gold concentrate at the Maiskoye deposit, developed by Polymetal’s unit, decreased 4.1% to 4.3 tonnes.

Gold production of Rudnik Karalveyem, owned by Israeli businessman Lev Levayev, rose by 7.7% to 1.726 tonnes, and silver production rose by 19.7 kilograms to 181.96 kilograms.
